What does Prestashop mean?

PrestaShop is an open-source e-commerce platform for creating and managing online stores. It lets you manage products, orders, customers, shipping, payments, discounts or multiple language and currency versions of an e-shop. It is written in PHP and, thanks to its open source code, can be extensively customized to specific needs. The features and look of the e-shop can be extended with modules and themes. PrestaShop is available for free as an open-source project, and there are also commercial versions and add-on services. The platform is used both for smaller e-shops and for larger projects that require more control over the technical solution and data.
