What does Micro-conversion mean?

A micro-conversion is a smaller user action that may not represent the main goal of a website on its own but indicates that the visitor is moving closer to an important conversion. In e-commerce, it can be viewing a product detail, using a filter, adding an item to favorites, adding a product to the cart, registering or signing up for a newsletter. Micro-conversions help you better understand the individual steps of the customer journey and reveal where users continue and where they drop out of the process. Tracking them makes it possible to evaluate visitor behavior more accurately and optimize content, interface and the purchase process toward the main conversions.
