What does Language models mean?

Language models are artificial intelligence systems designed to work with natural language. They learn from large amounts of text data to recognize relationships between words, sentences and meanings and, based on these, predict further parts of a text or create answers. They can generate and edit text, translate, summarize, answer questions, analyze documents or help with programming. Modern large language models, known as LLMs, work with a vast number of parameters and can respond to more complex instructions and context. However, their outputs are not always factually correct, so important information should be verified.
