What does HTTP(S) mean?

HTTP(S) refers to the protocols used to transfer data between a web browser and a server. HTTP stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol and handles communication when loading web pages and other online resources. HTTPS is its secure version, which uses encryption via the TLS protocol. This helps protect transmitted data from eavesdropping or unauthorized changes and also allows the server's identity to be verified with a digital certificate. HTTPS is especially important for e-shops, where customers enter personal and payment information. In a browser, it can be recognized by an address starting with https://.
