What does HTML layout mean?

HTML layout refers to the structure and arrangement of a web page created with HTML elements. It determines how individual parts of the content, such as the header, navigation, main content, sidebar or footer, are arranged in the source code and what meaning they have. Modern HTML also uses semantic tags for structure, such as
,
,
,
or
. HTML itself mainly defines content and its hierarchy, while the specific look, sizes, spacing and positions of elements are usually set with CSS. A correctly built HTML layout helps keep a website clear, responsive and understandable for browsers and search engines.
