What does GDPR mean?
GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation, the European Union regulation on the protection of personal data. It sets rules for collecting, using, storing, transferring and otherwise processing personal data, and it strengthens the rights of individuals toward organizations that work with their data. These rights include the right to information, access to data, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing. GDPR also applies to e-shops, which routinely handle customer data in orders, registrations, customer support or marketing. Organizations must therefore have an appropriate legal basis for processing personal data, inform users and protect their data.
