What does CDN mean?

CDN stands for Content Delivery Network, a network of servers located in different places that helps deliver website content to users faster. Instead of loading everything from a single server, images, scripts and other files are delivered from a location closer to the visitor. The result is usually faster page loading, better stability under higher traffic and often a lower load on the main server.
