What the service outage will be about
From Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 August, the CDN server, where images, customizations and templates (looks) are stored, will be merged during the night hours.
During this time the data will be copied from image.pobo.cz to image.pobo.space - new images, customizations and templates will be uploaded to image.pobo.space.
The original subdomain image.pobo.cz, which is linked to the images of the current captions, will continue to be functional and will be running in parallel to image.pobo.space.
In the case of launching caption exports after this date, the image.pobo.space subdomain will be used .
Why we are making these changes and what they will bring
As part of the CDN server merge, faster disks will be used for data (fast SSDs instead of the current slower HDDs) and there will be territorial replication to 8 servers in Europe and 6 in the US. This step will ensure fast data retrieval anywhere in the world. In addition, protection against DDOS attacks and the creation of multiple backup data (replication of each server) will be strengthened.
How long the outage will be and what it will entail
There will be a short outage from Saturday to Sunday during which DNS records will be changed. The outage may be dependent on the ISP, which has its own rules for a so-called temporary cache that expires every few hours. It is therefore not possible to write down how long it will specifically last.
