We've added new support for product descriptions for marketplaces and price comparators to Pobo Page Builder.

New in Pobo Page Builder - labels for marketplace and price comparators

How marketplace labels and price comparators work

Many of our clients offer their products on marketplaces and also price comparison sites, especially Mall, Alza, Favi etc. These marketplaces have fairly strict rules (guidlines) for product descriptions, especially the HTML structure.

In layman's terms - the nice descriptions that Pobo Page Builder offers are not compatible with these rules.

We have personally addressed the guideline issue with both Mall and Alsa, unfortunately without success, so we have added an option to Pobo Page Builder to enable a compatible mode that makes the descriptions for the comparators look nice at the same time.

How to enable labels for marketplaces and comparators

In your account, go to the"Marketplace Labels" section and turn on the"Enable marketplace labels" option. Then start the bulk export and you're all set.

After enabling this option and exporting the descriptions in bulk, you need to force the marketplace or price comparators to download the product descriptions again.

Technically, enabling the option will cause descriptions to be exported to the e-shop (and subsequently XML feeds) that are compatible with the guidline marketplace, i.e. only headings, paragraphs, images, tables, bullets, simple text, etc. Block elements (div) and classes are omitted, so the HTML is rules-compliant.

On the e-shop, the labels appear nice. However, they are loaded dynamically when the product detail is opened from our server.

SASS support in VS Code

In the last newsletter we reported on the implementation of VS Code in Pobo Page Builder. We have now added SASS preprocessor support for coders who are used to writing efficient code.
