In this article, we take a look at what the year was like and what's planned for 2023.
The year 2022 was quite a challenging one for all of us. After the pandemic came another blow in the form of the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops. Prices have risen and inflation has gone hand in hand with it, but we need to be optimistic and, as the Chinese proverb says, 'A vision without action is a dream, action without vision is a nightmare', and we need to keep going.
We published an article on Shoptet's blog in which we showed, based on the results of AB tests conducted on three e-shops, that Pobo's customized descriptions increase orders by 17% on average.
We added a new feature in the editor - AI text generation, which generates several text variations for product descriptions after inputting input information. We've also added a popular widgets feature and product performance stats. At the same time, we attended the 1st edition of Startup Academy by CzechCrunche, which included thematic workshops with experts and mentoring from industry leaders.
We've added several features to Pogo Page Builder - inserting buttons with a link, the ability to delete favorite widgets, and aggregate product performance statistics such as traffic, number of adds to cart, conversion rate, and more. The editor has also undergone an overall redesign.
During the webinar in cooperation with Shoptet, Michal introduced the functions of Pobo editor and advised how to create labels that increase orders.
We've added several improvements to Pobo, such as a smart CDN for faster image loading, gallery photo enlargement in the modal window, a photo deletion feature, and the ability to edit the title of a blog post in the editor itself.
In addition, we have launched an add-on to support Ukraine - a bar that appears on the e-shop and redirects visitors to stojimezaukrajinou.cz.
On April 13, we attended Reshoper, the biggest event for e-shoppers in the Czech Republic. We talked to a number of our users and got useful feedback and tips for improving the editor. We ourselves had the opportunity to discover interesting projects and tools for e-shops and learn about new developments in e-commerce.
As of May, AI is available not only for Czech, but also for Slovak and English. In addition, we have added the ability to set the width of the tooltips in the editor so that they appear the same as in the e-shop.
We've added a new Analytics section to the editor, where you can compare the performance of descriptions created in Pobo with the performance of the original descriptions on the store using six basic metrics.
Other new features include faster administration and the associated speedup in loading products, categories and blog posts, and a clearer widget preview system. And last but not least, we added a module for editing the appearance of the e-shop using CSS.
In June, we also approached graphic designer Tomáš Liška, who created a new homepage for us.
A new article has been added to the blog in which we share tips for improving product pages. We also made a short video about our tool.
We've added two new features to Pobo Page Builder: adding products and categories to favorites and searching through categories, blog posts and shared descriptions.
We've also added a few new widgets, such as one with customer ratings.
Since September, Pobo has been able to create and manage content for descriptions and categories in multiple languages using DeepL's automatic translations, which are very accurate, unlike Google Translator. At the same time, we were invited by Shoptet to an SEO meeting where, for example, Pavel Ungr gave a talk.
In November, we published another article on the blog about how to write labels correctly. This time, we focused on the most common mistakes we encounter when writing descriptions for e-commerce stores.
Newly added features allow you to easily switch between multiple e-stores and add multiple users to a single e-store to manage it. This feature is ideal for those who manage multiple e-stores or want to make e-store editing available to other people.
So, this year we added quite a lot of AI text generation features to Pobo, analytics, a photo bank, multilingualism with automatic translations via DeepL and showed up on Reshoper. Internally, we solved a big technology debt and added e-shop switching as a result.
We finished the expansion for Hungarian Shoptet, added new widgets and translated Pobo into Slovak for our brothers from Slovakia. Last but not least, in cooperation with Shoptet we prepared a webinar on why to tackle product pages and interviewed Karin Kirchner Ercolani about how she works with Pobo Page Builder.
Not to brag, we missed a lot of planned features - the SEO module and uploading custom widgets. Due to fairly frequent DDOS attacks, we had (and sometimes have) accessibility issues, which we'll work on. A big part we left out was education - we want to teach you how to write proper descriptions in a clear and simple way.
After the New Year, first and foremost we need to. Work on the rests we have left, then you can look forward to the following features:
This feature will allow you to copy one description between multiple e-shops with different languages. For e-shops planning to expand to other markets, it will be possible to translate and copy content to another e-shop with one click
Marketplace labels
Quite often in Pobo we deal with incompatibility of descriptions with marketplace Mall, Alza or price comparators like Favi etc. The feature will allow to generate separate descriptions for XML feed according to the rules of marketplace or price comparators. We are testing this feature now, we will add information to the help section soon.
As Samuel Huba said in an interview for MladýPodnikatel.cz - 2023 will be about efficiency. We are also aware that writing a description for each product is challenging, so we are planning the possibility of generating parametric descriptions by categories and manufacturers in combination with artificial intelligence.
For quite a long time, Pobo was unable to create dynamic widgets that allow you to copy or delete additional items, which was a disadvantage o against competing tools. Internally, we are testing and (prospectively) want to deploy nice widgets with parameters in which the number of parameters can be dynamically changed. We can then add the functionality to other widgets as well.
Expansion to the Shopware and Shopify platform
The year 2023 will be a busy one for you and us. Before the end of this year we managed a rather challenging expansion for Hungarian Shoptet, then we will continue with the expansion to Shopify and Shopware. The expansion will open up new opportunities for us in terms of team and product expansion.
