Personas or do you know how to talk to your customers?

When creating product descriptions (as well as other texts on the e-shop), it is important not only WHAT you communicate, but also HOW. The right tone of communication will help you turn a visitor to your product page into a customer. How to do it?

Appropriate tone of communication

First of all, you need to know who your customers are and what your target group is. Then adapt the tone of your communication to this and decide whether you will use, for example:

  • colloquial language,
  • playful language with puns,
  • written, formal language.

You should also be clear about whether you' re giving the customer tics or boos. You should then be consistent with your chosen method of communication not only in your descriptions but in all your e-shop communication.

Create your personas

Not sure how to choose the right tone of communication? Then creating a persona will help. A persona is a fictitious profile, a kind of prototype of a typical customer who shops at your e-shop. Focus on details such as:

  • Age,
  • gender,
  • income,
  • interests,
  • the problem they're solving.

Then write the description as if you were talking to the person. The text will be much more attractive to your target audience! On the other hand, a poorly chosen method of communication could make you seem untrustworthy.
